Delete Serial Extra Fields
A serial number is a unique number used for identification and inventory purposes. A serial number allows a company to identify a product and get additional information about it, for replacement, or as a means of finding compatible parts.
Serial Extra Fields are additional properties of a serial. The serial extra fields allows you to categorize your serials according to various fields such as Manufacture date, Ship date or Distributor.
You can delete serial extra fields via an upload.
In the upload file, you will enter empty values (blanks) under the serial extra fields that you wish to delete.
To delete Serial extra field, do the following;
- From the Left hand menu, navigate to More
- Click on “Products”, this will open up the Products List window.
- Click on the desired product
- Under the selected product, click on "Serials". This will open up the Serials List window
- Click on the Add icon
to load the Serial Add options
- Click on “ Upload Serial Batch”, the download the sample template for the platform
- In the excel sheet, you will have the columns headers for serial number, PRODUCT_NAME and the name of the serial extra fields that you wish to remove
- Under the serial number column, enter the list of the affected serials
- Under PRODUCT_NAME, enter the name of the corresponding product
- Under the serial extra fields, enter an empty value (space). When you upload the excel sheet to the platform, it will automatically delete the serial extra fields whose value is empty (blank)
