What is Echo Agent and how does it work?

Echo Agent is an android application that syncs with the core Echo platform allowing agents in the field to conduct sales & data collection offline. This application can work well for field agents with smartphones or tablets and it makes data collection easy. You are able to store cases offline, upload photos, geo-coordinates, and much more.

There are various benefits to using Echo Agent or ODK as a tool for data collection which are:
  • It is a more affordable as data plans are cheaper than SMS, especially for longer surveys and an SMS short-code is not required
  • It creates a better user experience as one can swipe through survey questions, validate responses as they’re entered and show hints to clarify question meaning
  • It is an offline tool as all data can be collected offline and be synced to server can occur whenever a WiFi connection is available
Once the data being collected offline is ready to be submitted/synced, the respondent can connect to their device to Wi-Fi/packet data and sync it. You can then view these responses on the Echo platform
As use of Echo Agent may differ from one organization to another. Therefore for more information on Echo Agent pricing and set up options in your country, please feel free to drop us an email support@echomobile.org
