Managing Custom Fields

Managing Custom Fields

Once you have created your custom fields and used them to build and collect data on your respondents, you can easily manage the fields as you continue working with them.

Edit Custom Fields

You can edit you current list of custom fields by doing the following:
  1. From the Left hand menu, navigate to More
  2. Click on “Fields”
  3. On the desired custom field, click on the ''Edit'' icon
  4. On the Update Field window, edit the field details that you wish to change
  5. Click on "Save" to update the changes

Delete Custom Fields

You can choose to delete fields that you are no longer applying in your campaigns. It is important to note that once custom fields are deleted, the values that were populated in these fields will be deleted as well and data will be lost.

To delete a custom field, do the following:
  1. From the Left hand menu, navigate to More
  2. Click on “Fields”
  3. On the desired custom field, click on the "Delete icon
  4. On the delete confirmation dialog box, click on "OK" to confirm that you wish to delete the data.
  5. This will delete the custom field and associated data

Protect Custom Fields

You can choose to protect certain custom fields so that as various users in your organization use and navigate the platform they would be unable to remove certain fields

To Protect a custom field, do the following:
  1. From the Left hand menu, navigate to More
  2. Click on “Fields”
  3. On the desired custom field, click on the "Protect" icon
  4. The field will now be marked as protected. Once a field is protected and a user clicks on delete, an error message appears saying that a protected field cannot be deleted

Filter Custom Fields

When you have a large number of fields accumulated in your fields’ page, looking for a particular field manually can be a bit tasking. This is where filtering comes in; narrow down to the fields you are looking for by filtering out using ‘tags’ if you used any or by the ‘field types’.

  1. Enter the particular Tag for your field(s) or Field Key of the Field
  2. Filter out using "Field type" by selecting your option from the drop-down menu
  3. Filtering can be done by using one of the two options separately (i.e. Tags or field types) or together if you are looking to make your search more specific. Click on the ‘filter’ button to complete the filter.
