Since the purpose of the invitation text is introduction, a clear call to action, for instance, "Reply with 1 to start" is needed so that the respondent knows how to get to the first question of the survey where actual data collection begins.
Any responses made to the invitation text are not recorded as a result to the survey since this functionality is not meant for data collection. Actual data collection only starts when the respondent replies to question 1 on-wards.
